 - Nicholas II & Alexei (Recording)

monument-of-stones:

A possible recording of the last Tsar and his son, whose high voice appears with a series of ‘whoo-hoo’ cheers about a minute in.

The Tsarina had most recordings of her children destroyed, so it can’t be certain what Alexei actually sounded like, but many sources claim this is a surviving recording of him, taken while marching alongside his father.

iwillneverforgetthem:

Alexei was well aware that he might not live to adulthood.
His beautiful face made me sad.
